Jason Seley, 1919-1983, welded automobile parts sculpture, student of Zadkine at the Arts Students League in New York and eventually became dean of the college of Architecture, Arts and Planning at Cornell University. Sculpture has the raised weld signature SELEY and probably dates from the 1960's or 70's.
French gilt bronze and crystal open tantalus, the ornate fire gilt frame fitted with scalloped faceted crystal panels for bottom, back, and hinged top, holding 3 gilt decorated crystal decanters and 12 liqueur glasses, 9 with handles, back stamped "BREVETE / SGDG", 17" h, 17" w, 11 1/2" d, second half 19th c.
